This Privacy Policy applies to Stormora: Storm Alerts Map for Android, published on Google Play by Digital Farscapes UK. DeluxeWare is the product and website brand used for this app and related support pages.
Stormora is a weather alert app that shows active weather warnings on a map, helps users monitor selected locations, and can send weather alert notifications. This policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and how you can contact us.
Information We Collect
Stormora may collect or process the following information when you use the Android app:
- Location data: precise or approximate device location if you grant Android location permission, manually searched city or place names, saved place names, coordinates, and the alert radius you choose.
- Approximate location from network data: if you continue without device location permission, Stormora may request an approximate location based on your IP address from an external IP-location service so the app can show nearby alerts.
- Weather alert preferences: selected alert radius, minimum severity, enabled alert types, duplicate suppression settings, badge count settings, notification preferences, selected location, and saved places.
- Push notification data: Firebase Cloud Messaging token, app version, locale, app identifier, alert filters, selected location, saved locations, and notification settings when push alerts are enabled.
- Device and app data: IP address, operating system, device and app identifiers, app version, network state, and technical request data needed to operate the service, load maps, request ads, process purchases, and protect the service.
- Subscription and purchase data: Google Play Billing purchase status and subscription entitlement information. Payment card details are processed by Google Play and are not collected by Stormora.
- Support data: information you send to us if you contact support, such as your email address, message content, screenshots, and diagnostic details you choose to provide.
How We Use Information
Stormora uses information for the following purposes:
- to show active weather warnings near your current, approximate, searched, or saved locations;
- to match official weather alerts to your selected radius, severity filters, alert types, and saved places;
- to display maps, alert markers, alert details, widgets, and badge counts;
- to send push notifications for weather alerts when you enable notifications;
- to provide subscriptions, premium features, restore purchases, and remove ads for premium users;
- to show advertising through Google AdMob for non-premium users;
- to maintain, secure, debug, and improve the app and the Stormora API;
- to respond to support requests and legal obligations.
Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell your personal data. Stormora shares or processes data only as needed to provide app functionality, comply with law, or operate the service. The Android app uses the following third-party services, each of which may process data under its own privacy policy:
- Google Play Services for Android platform services.
- Google Maps Platform for map display and location-related map features.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notification tokens and delivery.
- Google AdMob for advertising in the free version of the app.
- Google Play Billing for subscriptions and purchase processing.
- ipapi for approximate location lookup when device location is not used.
Stormora also sends weather alert requests and push registration data to the Stormora API operated for the app. API requests can include coordinates, radius, alert filters, locale, app version, app identifier, and notification token when needed for the selected feature.
Location Data
Stormora needs location data to show weather alerts near you and around saved places. You can use the app with device location permission, a manually searched city, or approximate IP-based location. If you enable push notifications, your selected alert location and saved places may be sent to the Stormora API so notifications can be matched to those locations.
You can change Android location permission in system settings, remove saved places in the app, disable notification alerts, or uninstall the app to stop location-based processing from the Android app.
Ads and Purchases
Stormora may show ads through Google AdMob to non-premium users. AdMob may use device identifiers and advertising data according to Google's policies. Premium subscriptions are handled through Google Play Billing. Stormora does not receive or store your payment card details.
Data Retention and Deletion
Local settings, saved places, selected radius, and preferences are stored on your device until you change them, clear app data, or uninstall the app. Push registration data is kept while notifications are enabled or while needed to operate alert delivery. Support messages are retained for as long as needed to handle the request and maintain business records.
To request deletion of Stormora server-side data associated with your Android app usage, contact us through the support page below. Include that your request relates to Stormora: Storm Alerts Map.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by Stormora. No internet or mobile service can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but we work to limit data access to what is needed to operate the app.
Children
Stormora is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through Stormora, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of Stormora after an update means you accept the updated policy.
